Every year Haj Committee of India (HCoI) issues Action Plan for completion of Haj related work within the time frame provided by Saudi Government. Joint State Haj Committee makes every possible effort to complete the Haj related works as per this Action plan. This year Announcement for Haj, 2025 was made on 13th August, 2024 and last date for submission of Haj Application Form (HAF) was fixed on 9th Sept., 2024. In view of the representations received by the Haj Committee of India from several State Haj Committees, the last date for submission of HAF was extended upto 30th Sept., 2024. As on 25/9/2024, a total of 2495 Haj Applications from Assam, Meghalaya and Nagaland has been received.
During the Haj, 2024, under Joint State Haj Committee, a total of 3701 nos. of pilgrims from Assam, Meghalaya and Nagaland proceeded to Saudi Arabia to perform Haj. Government of India had arranged flights via the Airlines ‘Spice Jet’ for Guwahati embarkation point which carried 320 pilgrims per flight.
Joint State Haj Committee, Assam on behalf of the Govt. arranged 2 (two) days District Level Training with a view to provide proper & effective Training to the pilgrims (both Logistics & Rituals). Trainers were selected by the Joint State Haj Committee as per Guidelines provided by Haj Committee of India. Selected 19 nos. of Trainers attended 2 days Training of Trainers Programme, organized by Haj Committee of India, Mumbai. These Trained Trainers were allotted to various Districts to impart Training to the Pilgrims.
For convenience of the Haj Pilgrims, a ‘Vaccination Drive’ was carried out at the Training venue itself engaging work force from the State Health Deptt.and the pilgrims were vaccinated accordingly.
As per guidelines of Haj Committee of India, applications for selection of Khadim-ul-Hujjaj were invited and accordingly 57 nos. of candidates applied for KuH. Accordingly, the Joint State Haj Committee selected 19 nos. of Khadim-ul-Hujjaj as per ratio of 1 Khadim-ul-Hujjaj for 200 pilgrims.
Joint State Haj Committee, Assam had provided 1 (one) Haj Guide, 1(one) Thermoflask, 1(one) Drug kit and 1(one) Phulam Gamocha to the pilgrims as Gift.
